Senior Housing Project Breaks Ground Near Bowling Alley

54-unit affordable community for adults 55+ under construction on Valley View Road

As we mentioned in April, National Church Residences has begun construction on Divinity Landing, a 54-unit affordable housing development for seniors on Valley View Road in Macedonia.

The three-story building will provide one-bedroom apartments for adults 55 and older, with completion expected by August 2026. The project received Low Income Housing Tax Credits from the Ohio Housing Finance Agency in May 2024.

Construction Details

The development will include a community room, exercise space, flex office, laundry facilities and multi-purpose room. The site provides 81 parking spaces with access to State Route 8, State Route 82 and I-271.

Construction began in June 2025 with Berardi + Partners as architect and John G. Johnson Construction as general contractor. Funding partners include Huntington National Bank, National Equity Fund and Cinnaire Lending.

Amy Rosenthal, Vice President of Affordable Housing Development at National Church Residences, said the location offers proximity to services, shopping and major roadways to foster independence for older adults.

About the Developer

National Church Residences operates 17 senior housing communities and health care facilities in Northeast Ohio. The nonprofit organization serves 65,000 seniors nationwide with more than 350 communities across the United States.

The Macedonia project supports the organization’s goal to serve 100,000 older adults by 2030.
