Solon Boys Soccer Rolls Past Nordonia 7-0 Behind Hirsh Hat Trick

The Solon Comets boys soccer team delivered a commanding performance Monday night, shutting out Nordonia 7-0 in a dominant road victory that improved their record to 5-1 on the season.

Senior Rowan Hirsh paced the Comets’ offensive attack with three goals, while senior Noah Konheim added two goals of his own. Senior Malec Jirari and sophomore Jake Ingerman each contributed single tallies to complete the seven-goal outburst that more than tripled Solon’s season scoring average.

The balanced scoring effort showcased Solon’s offensive depth, with four different players finding the back of the net. Konheim also recorded an assist to go along with his two goals, demonstrating his playmaking ability throughout the match.

Coming into the contest, Solon was averaging 2.0 goals per game while Nordonia was allowing 1.7 goals per contest. The Comets shattered both those numbers with their most explosive offensive performance of the young season.

The victory keeps Solon unbeaten in conference play at 1-1, while improving their home record to 2-0. The Knights dropped to 4-2 overall and 0-2 in conference action with the loss.

Solon’s defense held firm throughout the contest, recording a clean sheet against a Nordonia squad that had been averaging 1.3 goals per game. The Comets controlled possession and tempo from the opening whistle, never allowing the Knights to establish any sustained offensive pressure.

The commanding performance demonstrates Solon’s potential as they sit ranked 376th nationally and 69th in Ohio Division I standings. The Comets will look to carry this momentum into their next match as they continue building toward postseason play.
