Anderson Seredick stood atop the podium Saturday after capturing first place at the Suburban League Championships at Silver Creek Metro Park.
The Nordonia sophomore completed the 5K course in 16 minutes, 4.3 seconds, nearly 17 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Seredick’s performance anchored a solid team effort that saw the Knights place fourth overall with 89 points, finishing behind Hudson, Stow and Solon.
Junior Aiden Flynn secured fifth place individually in 16:39.6, holding off a tight pack of competitors. Senior Ethan Mellott finished 13th in 17:29.8, providing crucial points for the Knights.
Freshman Colin May impressed in his postseason debut, crossing the line 29th in 18:01.9. Senior Mason McFall rounded out the scoring five with a 41st-place finish in 18:38.5.
Sophomore Ben Simenc placed 44th in 18:41.0, while junior Zackary Tomak finished 46th in 18:43.9. The team averaged 17:24 with a 2:34 spread between the first and fifth runners.
On the girls side, Nordonia finished seventh with 179 points. Junior Olivia May led the Knights with a 24th-place finish, completing the course in 21:12.1. Sophomore Riley Lingo followed in 26th place with a time of 21:20.0.
Senior Olivia Pecic placed 36th in 22:05.0, while sophomore Kaia Seredick finished 44th in 22:50.7. Junior Ella Bonanno completed the scoring five in 49th place with a time of 23:16.4.
Junior Sofia Bonanno placed 51st in 23:21.8, and sophomore Emma Purcell finished 52nd in 23:35.8.
Hudson swept both team titles, with their boys scoring 45 points and girls scoring 68 points. Wadsworth claimed the girls championship with 35 points.
