Star-Crossed Lovers Return to Nordonia Stage This December

High school production of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet runs three nights with local students in lead roles

MACEDONIA — Nordonia Drama will present William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet for three performances December 5-7, bringing one of the playwright’s most celebrated tragedies to the local stage.

The production explores the fatal consequences of a forbidden romance between Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, whose families are locked in a bitter feud in Verona. When the young lovers meet by chance, their whirlwind relationship sets in motion a series of events that lead to tragedy.

Directors Chris Simmons and Julia Dulaney have cast Ezekiel Rayle as Romeo and Katie Hersh as Juliet. They will be joined by a cast of 15 students, including Ryan Arieta, Hailey Cannon and London Chapman.

The production marks Nordonia Drama’s return to Shakespearean theater. Promotional photos by Lexi Majoros Photography showcase the cast in period costume.
