Every year thousands of children are killed or injured in transportation-related accidents. In fact, according to the National Center for Health Statistics 2009 report, traffic-related deaths are the leading cause of death for children. Safety Town a program that originated in Ohio in 1964 and is focused solely on preventing childhood injury by teaching good safety practices to all children. The program utilizes a miniature ‘town’ where children learn traffic safety lessons by driving small ‘cars’ through a simulated town comprised of buildings, roadways, sidewalks, traffic crossings, and more.
In order to maintain a permanent home for the Nordonia Hills Safety Town program, we need the financial support of businesses and individuals like you to help defray the cost of construction. In return for your support, your business name will become a physical part of the Safety Town construction for all participants to see.
