SUMMIT COUNTY, OHIO—Beginning Tuesday, August 1, Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro will launch Summit County Animal Control’s Clear the Shelter Adoption Event! Clear the Shelters is an annual, national pet adoption drive that helps animals in need find new, loving homes. Since 2015, Clear the Shelters has helped more than 860,000 pets nationwide find new homes.
During Summit County’s Clear the Shelter event adoption costs will be reduced to $28 for dogs (regularly $94) and $5 for cats (regularly $60) from Tuesday, August 1 to Thursday, August 31. The animals will be fully vetted (bloodwork, flea treatments, intestinal de-worming, spay/neuter, and vaccinations), microchipped and ready to be taken home. Those who adopt a dog will receive a 2023 Summit County Dog License included in the adoption cost. Call 330-643-2845 with if you are interested or have any questions.
“We are so proud to participate in this annual campaign. We want to take this opportunity to thank our staff and volunteers at Summit County Animal Control and our wonderful residents for continuing to support, adopt, and love our animals.
