Summit County Department Of Job And Family Services Partners With Libraries

SUMMIT COUNTY, OHIO— Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro’s Department of Job and Family Services (DJFS) and Akron-Summit County Public Library announced a new collaboration aimed at increasing community outreach and improving access to essential services for residents of Summit County. Under the partnership, DJFS will provide an on-site case manager at select library branches (Highland Square, Springfield-Lakemore, Odom, and North Hill), on Tuesdays, 12 – 4 p.m.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Akron-Summit County Public Library to better serve our community,” said County Executive Ilene Shapiro. “By providing these essential services at the library, we’re making it easier for people to access the support they need and breaking down barriers to self-sufficiency.”

Akron-Summit County Public Library recognizes that this important partnership increases community outreach and improves access to essential services.

“At Akron-Summit County Public Library, we believe in the power of community and the importance of providing resources to those who need them,” said Pamela Hickson-Stevenson, Executive Director. “We’re proud to partner with Summit County Department of Job and Family Services and to offer our patrons the support they need to succeed.”

The partnership is set to launch March 7, with plans to expand to additional branches in the future.
