On June 23, 2021 at approximately 10:15 p.m., the Summit County Sheriff’s Office and the Summit Metro Crash Response Team responded to a motor vehicle crash on State Route 8 in Northfield Center Township. A 34 year old male from Copley Township driving a 2009 Chevrolet HHR was involved in the crash. It was determined that the male was travelling south on State Route 8 near the Interstate 271 ramp when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the concrete barrier. The male suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to Akron City Hospital by Macedonia Fire-EMS. He was not wearing a seatbelt. The crash continues to be under investigation by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office and Summit Metro Crash Response Team
