The Summit County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into Human Trafficking with the assistance of the Portage County Sheriff’s Office, Stark County Sheriff’s Office, Akron Police Department, Adult Parole Authority and the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office. Multiple men and women subjects were encountered during the single day operation. The operation identified several Human Trafficking victims. Services were offered to the human trafficking victims at the scene by RAHAB Ministries and the Rape Crisis Center of Summit and Medina Counties. These agencies are a part of the Summit County Human Trafficking Task Force.
