Summit County Sheriff’s Office: Missing Child – Update

On February 28, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., an 8th grade student from R.B. Chamberlin Middle School in Twinsburg Township was reported missing. Maria Maaz-Ba, age 15 did not get on the school bus and was last seen walking towards Ravenna Road in Twinsburg Township. Maria is 4’10”, weighs approximately 100 pounds, and has long dark hair. She was last seen wearing a white sweatshirt and blue jeans. Maria speaks Spanish and she speaks very little English. Maria may also be using the name Olivia Tiul Xi.

UPDATE

On February 28, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., an 8th grade student from R.B. Chamberlin Middle School in Twinsburg Township was reported missing. Maria Maaz-Ba, age 15, did not get on the school bus and was last seen walking towards Ravenna Road in Twinsburg Township. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into the matter. The Sheriff’s Office along with the Twinsburg Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Department of Homeland Security gathered information and followed-up on leads regarding the disappearance of Ms. Maaz-Ba. Investigators received information that Ms. Maaz-Ba may have travelled to the Chicago, Illinois area. Investigators are working with officials in the Chicago area to locate the missing juvenile.
