On February 28, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., an 8th grade student from R.B. Chamberlin Middle School in Twinsburg was reported missing. Maria Maaz-Ba, age 15, did not get on the school bus and was last seen walking towards Ravenna Road. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into the matter. The Sheriff’s Office along with the Twinsburg Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Department of Homeland Security gathered information and followed-up on leads regarding the disappearance of Ms. Maaz-Ba.
On March 5, 2024, Ms. Maaz-Ba was located unharmed in Chicago, Illinois by local authorities. Further details will be made available soon.
