Summit County Sheriff’s Office PRESS RELEASE Arrest Warrants Issued

On Sunday May 22, 2022, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Summit County Sheriff‘s Office responded to a report of an assault in Coventry Township. It was reported that Adam Richardson assaulted the driver while he was in the passenger seat of a vehicle traveling eastbound on State Route 224 at the Interstate 77 entrance ramp in Coventry Township. The vehicle was being driven by a 31 year old female. Richardson became involved in a verbal argument with the female and he threatened her. Richardson stated, “I will kill us both.” and he subsequently grabbed the steering wheel, causing the vehicle to strike a concrete barrier. Richardson fled the scene of the crash. Summit County Sheriff’s Office Patrol units, Detective Bureau and Major Crime Scene Unit responded and processed the scene. Adam Richardson, age 37 of Canton was charged with Felonious Assault (F-3) and Criminal Damaging (M-2). The victim was treated and released by EMS. To date, authorities have been unable to locate Adam Richardson.

Richardson had an outstanding warrant out of Akron for Burglary (F-4) for an unrelated incident.
