The Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Akron Police Department, Portage County Sheriff’s Office, Summit County Prosecutor’s Office and the Summit County Human Trafficking Force recently conducted an investigation into human trafficking in Summit and Portage Counties. Multiple men and women subjects were encountered during the single day operation. During the operation, law enforcement officials made contact with several possible human trafficking victims. Services were offered to these victims on scene by RAHAB Ministries and The Rape Crisis Center of Medina and Summit Counties as a part of the Summit County Human Trafficking Task Force.
