On January 6, 2021, the Coventry Fire Department and the Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to a house fire on Penguin Drive in Coventry Township. When authorities arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames. There were no occupants in the house at the time and no injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The house was determined to be a total loss.

Evidence at the scene led investigators to believe that the fire was intentionally set. A joint arson investigation into the incident was initiated by the Coventry Fire Department and Summit County Sheriff’s Detectives. Evidence recovered from the scene was submitted to the State Fire Marshal’s forensic lab.
