On November 29, 2021, at approximately 1:55 p.m., the Summit County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a single car crash near Cottage Grove Road and East Caston Road in the City of Green. Upon arrival, deputies located the vehicle driven by a 42-year-old female. The driver was entrapped due to wires on top of the vehicle. With the assistance of Ohio Edison, the driver was extricated from the vehicle within 15 minutes.
A preliminary investigation shows the driver was traveling northbound on Cottage Grove Road from East Caston Road when her vehicle left the roadway. She subsequently drove through several residential yards and a ditch. Her vehicle left a debris field approximately 1/4 mile long. Her vehicle then struck a utility pole, causing an interruption of power services in the area and damage to the pole.
The female was transported by Green Fire to the Akron General Medical Center. The female did not report any injuries at the time of the crash. It appears alcohol may be a factor in the crash. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
