Summit County Sheriff’s Office to Host Second Annual Summit Faith & Blue Event

AKRON – Sheriff Fatheree is excited to announce that the Summit County Sheriff’s Office will again be hosting Summit Faith & Blue on Saturday, October 8th from 11:00am-2:00pm at the Akron-Fulton Airport in the City of Akron.

Now in its second year locally, the Faith & Blue movement is a national initiative aimed at building bridges, healing divisions, and bolstering the relationship between law enforcement and the community. Summit Faith & Blue is one of thousands of similar events that will be taking place across the country that weekend.

“The mission of Faith & Blue is very near to my heart, and align with my own priorities of community, diversity, equity, and inclusion,” said Sheriff Fatheree. “Now, more than ever, we need to come together as a community and see each other as what we are – neighbors.”

Summit Faith & Blue is a free, family-friendly event open to all members of the public, regardless of background, denomination, or belief system. Games, performances, children’s activities, giveaways, K-9 demonstrations, and much more are planned for that day, with food and drink available for purchase.

Local law enforcement agencies, communities of faith, and community organizations from throughout the county are encouraged to participate in this day of fun, fellowship, and reconciliation. They can contact the Sheriff’s Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to confirm their participation at (330) 643-2154 or faithandblue@sheriff.summitoh.net.
