It was certainly a thrilling win for the Cleveland Browns over the Chicago Bears by a score of 20-17 in Cleveland on Sunday. The Dawgs had to make everyone nervous against a lowly NFC team that had no business beating quarterback Joe Flacco and company.
Even with the win, the Browns certainly have problems with the team and all of the injuries. It is really affecting the offensive line and that showed in this past matchup. After all, Flacco was sacked four times and it felt like the man was under pressure the entire game. Additionally, the running attack was obsolete with only 29 yards on the day.
The Browns have upcoming matchups in Houston, then against the Jets and lastly against the Bengals in Cincinnati to finish out the year. The team certainly is in contention for a wild card spot much more than a divisional crown.
It’s been a season filled with ups and downs throughout its course and that remained the same in this crazy Chicago game here in The Land.
Flacco threw for 374 yards on 38-44 throwing the ball, two touchdowns compared to three interceptions. Yes, the former Super Bowl Champion is going to have to work on his decision-making.
Tight end David Njoku caught 10 passes for 104 yards and a score. This included two crucial 30+ yard catches in the 4th quarter. Wide receiver Amari Cooper caught four balls for 109 yards and a touchdown. That was a 51-yard score on a beautiful pass by the quarterback late in the game.
Well, this season is winding down and the ball is really in the Browns’ court to win these next few aforementioned games to get to the playoffs. This way the Browns have a chance to get to that coveted S-word. Let’s not jinx it.
