The American Legion Elects New Commander

Nordonia Hills American Legion Post 801 has elected Jim Krasnicki as the 2022 -23 Post Commander. A graduate of John Carroll University, he was commissioned a 2nd  Lieutenant, in the U.S. Army Transportation Corps. A veteran of Vietnam, he was awarded a Bronze Star for combat action as he and his men beat back the enemy when he fortified a “soft spot” in defenses while under attack at Phan Thiet, South Vietnam.
Krasnicki later received an MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College. He earned a commercial pilot’s
license with instrument and multi-engine ratings and was awarded three Proficient Pilot Certificates from the FAA. He currently serves as a Trustee of the Nordonia Hills Veterans Memorial Park Foundation and First Vice Commander and Post Liaison Officer of Squadron 801 Sons of the American Legion. He is also a Life member of VFW Post 6768 and a member of the Historical Society of Olde Northfield..
He and his wife Kathryn  are forty-nine year residents of Northfield Center. They recently celebrated their Golden Anniversary.
Post 801 meets monthly at 7:00 PM in the lower level of the City of Macedonia’s Safety Building. Many active Ohio National Guard members and veterans are unaware they are eligible to join the American Legion.
