I am writing today to remind everyone that the health and well–being of our community is my highest priority. I am taking the utmost caution for many of the unknown with the corona virus and hereby have declared the City of Macedonia in a state of emergency. We have prepared our staff to be prepared for the potential positive tests of residents and City employees. By declaring a state of emergency in Macedonia, we will be able to seek additional state resources to help us get through this trying time. As time goes on and we learn more, we will reevaluate the state of emergency and plan accordingly. I want to be clear that our Police, Fire and EMS are fully functioning and will continue to provide the excellent service that we all expect. Effective Monday March 23, 2020, City Hall will be operating with a skeleton staff. We will update our website and social media as new information becomes available. I encourage everyone with questions regarding the COVID–19 virus to consult scph.org which will provide the best information where we stand as a County. We are living in challenging times and we will get through this together. The Governor is asking us to display the American flag at their homes and I encourage you to do so.
Stay strong and be safe. Sincerely,
City of Macedonia Mayor, Nick Molnar
