Are you looking for a great place to paint? The marvelous Melinda Sheppard is an amazing host with great deals. I wrote a piece on a virtual event I attended late last year and was hooked there on after. Here is my interview with the wonderful Melinda Sheppard
1. How did you start your business?
Melinda:I’m a former Social Worker & School Counselor. After investing 16 years in the field—-I realized I was burning myself out. Eventually, I came to a decision to leave it all behind and invest my time into providing the community with fun and artsy activities and events.
2. Where are you from?
Melinda:Cleveland, Ohio
- Where did you graduate, and what did you graduate with?
Melinda:I graduated from Cleveland State University, Masters in Education.
- What services do you provide?
Melinda: So-So Artsy Art Studio is your classic Paint & Sip Studio. The most common activity is painting on canvases while sipping on your favorite beverage. We offer in-studio events, virtual events via zoom, and off-site events (mobile)—Yes! We will come to you! We paint and create on Canvases, Wood, Glass, Wineglasses, Concrete/Rocks and anyone any age is welcome to participate. We offer Private Events for adults and kids, we offer fundraising events, team building events for the Workplace, we offer Adaptive Classes for senior citizens and the disabled. Summer and Holiday Camps, as well as Art Classes for kids on most Saturdays. Due to COVID we are only offering Private Events at the moment. Our most commonly held Private Events are Birthdays, Bridal/Bachelorette Parties, Baby Showers, Family Night , and Date Night.
5. Please give some insight on the yearly fundraiser you host.
Melinda We had a fundraising event scheduled for one of our Girl Scout Troops for Mid November and has since been cancelled until further notice due to COVID concerns. If one would like to participate in one of our scheduled fundraising events—they would need to go to our event calendar on our website and sign up for tickets.
- What recent events have you held?
Melinda:Once a month we have a Paint, Sip, & Stay at Marriott Springhill Suites in Solon. Most recent Paint, Sip, & Stay—was our Halloween Pumpkin Painting and movie night for the family in October..Our Christmas Paint, Sip, & Stay Event scheduled for December 5th—has been cancelled as well due to COVID concerns.
7. Are you running any specials right now?
Melinda: We have partnered with Bedford Parks & Recreation in offering weekly virtual classes for adults and kids. These classes are offered at a 20% discount when you sign up through Bedford Parks & Recreation. We have also partnered with Macedonia Parks & Recreation and will soon post a schedule.
- What would you like our readers to know?
Melinda: I would like for our readers to know that the So-So Artsy Team dedicates their time to creating an environment for our customers to create, express, release, & relax safely. Like many other Business Owners, we are watching the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak very closely. The safety & well-being of our customers and Team Members are always our highest priority. We are following all COVID guidelines and taking action to ensure we are protecting lives.

Melinda: The new So-So Artsy Home is located at 115 E. Aurora Rd. Northfield Ohio, inside of the Center Point Counseling Building at the rear entrance.
