Twinsburg Adds Extra Document Shredding Day, Fitness Center Closure Rescheduled (UPDATED)

City responds to high demand while electrical repairs delayed by weather

Twinsburg will host an additional free document shredding event this Saturday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Twinsburg Public Works on Ravenna Road.

Mayor Sam Scaffide announced the extra event Tuesday due to overwhelming demand at the city’s recent shredding day. The service is available only to Twinsburg residents, who may bring up to six boxes or bags of documents for on-site shredding. Residents must show valid identification or a current utility bill to verify residency.

“We’ve proudly sponsored this event for many years, but the popularity this year was unexpected—and we want to make sure everyone has the chance to participate,” Scaffide said.

The city also announced the Fitness Center closure has been rescheduled from June 27-30 to Monday, July 7 through Wednesday, July 9. The school district’s contractor notified officials that rain and extreme heat have delayed the electrical panel replacement project until after the Fourth of July.

The panel was damaged by a lightning strike last year and powers the facility’s equipment, lighting and climate control systems, requiring the temporary closure during repairs.

The city thanked residents for their patience during the rescheduled closure.
