Twinsburg Varsity Tigers took down Howland Varsity Tigers 6-3 on Tuesday at George G. Dodge Intermediate School.
Howland Varsity Tigers were the first to get on the board in the first when Brayden Kovarik grounded out, scoring one run.
Twinsburg Varsity Tigers made the score 3-1 in the bottom of the first after Jason Cox doubled, scoring one run, and Lane Conway singled, scoring two runs.
Twinsburg Varsity Tigers added one run in the second after Kyler Hoon singled down the left field line.
A double by William Bamler extended the Twinsburg Varsity Tigers lead to 5-1 in the bottom of the third inning.
Owen Shinada earned the win for Twinsburg Varsity Tigers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered three hits and three runs over six innings, striking out six and walking three. Sully O’Donnell took the loss for Howland Varsity Tigers. The starting pitcher went two and one-third innings, giving up five runs on five hits, striking out two and walking two. Ryan Hojdar collected the save.
Hoon and Conway each drove in two runs for Twinsburg Varsity Tigers. Twinsburg Varsity Tigers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Aiden Shinada had the most chances in the field with six.
Luca Fronzaglio led Howland Varsity Tigers with two hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Kovarik, Elliot Gebhardt, and Aidan Anders each drove in one run for Howland Varsity Tigers.
