Updates from Longwood Manor Historical Society

There is a lot happening at Longwood Manor over the next few weeks.
1.  Band Concert on Thursday July 21.  Posting of Colors by VFW at 7:15 PM, Concert starts at 7:30 PM.  The University Heights Symphonic Band will be performing a selection of marches, showtunes and others.  Freemason Composers are being featured.  Concert is co-sponsored by Longwood Manor Historical Society and Summit Lodge #213.  Bring your chairs and enjoy the concert.
2.  Next meeting of LMHS will be on Tuesday, July 26 ay 10AM.  We have a full agenda to discuss including progress on replacement of the flat roof over the bathrooms.  Dunn-Rite roofing is to start work on 7/25 or 7/26.  We have received an estimate for tuck pointing on the south side of the Manor and will be reviewing that.  Many upcoming events to be discussed.  Minutes of the June 28th meeting are available upon request.  They can be emailed after approval at our July meeting.
3.  Open house on Sunday, July 31 from 1-4 PM.
4.  RUMMAGE SALE on Friday, August 12 from 9-4 and Saturday, August 13 from 9-3.  Poster is attached.  Please print poster and post. We need much advertising for this event. Proceeds will be used for Manor restoration. Grocery stores, libraries, restaurants etc. usually agree to have posters/signs posted.
5.  Thanks to the Macedonia Service Center for the sign they put up for the band concert.
