VANTAGE Aging and AARP Ohio Collaborate to Host “Rest, Relate, Rejuvenate: A Caregiver’s Retreat in Akron

Akron, Ohio (October 17, 2023) – In celebration of National Caregivers Appreciation Month, VANTAGE Aging, a Northeast Ohio-based nonprofit, in partnership with AARP Ohio, announces “Rest, Relate, Rejuvenate: A Caregiver’s Retreat.” This event will take place on November 2, 2023, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, at the recently reopened and completely renovated House Three-Thirty, formerly known as Tangier, at 532 W Market St, Akron, 44303.

“Family caregivers do not get the recognition they deserve, but their dedication to their loved ones’ health and happiness does not go unnoticed,” shared Jennifer Kanney-Beebe, Director of Home and Community-Based Services for VANTAGE Aging. “We are excited to provide an event for caregivers to come together, find helpful resources, and be appreciated for all they do.”

AARP, the event sponsor, is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for everyone as they age. Their commitment to positive social change aligns perfectly with the mission of this retreat. VANTAGE Aging’s Home Wellness Solutions program, which provides over 10,000 hours of personal care and 1,000 hours of home cleaning services annually to elderly individuals, adds further support and community to those it serves.

About VANTAGE Aging: For nearly 50 years, VANTAGE Aging has promoted successful aging by providing programs to support the needs of older adults wishing to age in place and live independently with dignity. Offering state-wide assistance to low-income adults seeking job training employment, our Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) updates job skills for people 55 and older and places them in part-time employment. Retired and senior adults wishing to give back to the community can remain active with RSVP. Health and wellness are important to the success of aging in place, and our Home Wellness Solutions and Meals on Wheels programs build on that concept by helping homebound and disabled people remain at home by providing home-delivered meals, wellness checks, and assistance with personal and household needs.
