Village of Northfield Police Reports: Protection Order Violator Arrested After Traffic Stop, Stop Sticks End Pursuit, and Casino Theft

Arrests Made in Multiple Cases

Northfield Village Police handled a variety of incidents from June 2-22, including arrests, thefts, and emergency responses across the community.

ARRESTS & VIOLATIONS June 18 – A male driver was arrested during a traffic stop on Northfield Road near Ledge Road for violation of a protection order and cited for driving under suspension. The suspect was taken to Stow Municipal Court, released on personal bond, and picked up by another agency that had warrants for him.

THEFTS June 21 – Two electric bikes were stolen from Ledge Road apartments after 1 a.m. The owner reported the bikes were locked outside when taken.

June 16 – A resident of Preakness Drive reported jewelry and antique coins valued at $2,050 stolen from her bedroom armoire while she was at work.

June 9 – MGM security reported a voucher theft. Investigation identified a female suspect who was seen taking a VLT voucher and leaving with a male companion. A theft charge and arrest warrant will be issued for the female.

EMERGENCY RESPONSES June 17 – Officers responded to two separate incidents involving deceased males. One was found unresponsive at a business on Northfield Road but was conscious when police arrived. Later that evening, a male was found deceased at a Victory Boulevard residence with no signs of foul play.

June 13 – A female resident was found deceased on her couch at Ledge Road apartments by maintenance staff.

June 7 – A missing child with special needs was quickly located without injury after a brief search on Heights Avenue.

OTHER INCIDENTS June 20 – A distressed baby deer was dispatched and removed from Horseshoe Court.

June 8 – Officers conducted a civil standby for a custody discussion on Lincoln Drive and investigated a suspected child abuse report on Kennedy Boulevard.

June 4 – Police assisted Macedonia PD in a pursuit by deploying stop sticks, successfully stopping a fleeing Honda Pilot. The driver escaped on foot. A domestic violence investigation was started but resulted in no charges.
