On March 29 at 5:34 PM, Northfield Village Police Department (NVPD) responded to multiple reports of a male suspect entering residents’ homes and asking them to hide him. During the same time, dispatch informed officers that the suspect had crashed a vehicle into the woods on Filly Lane and fled from the car on foot.
Officers responding to the scene located and detained the suspect very quickly. Due to his mental state, the suspect was first transported to a hospital for evaluation. After the evaluation, officers picked him up from the hospital and took him into custody.
The suspect was charged with multiple offenses: The suspect was charged with: 1 count of Aggravated Burglary, 3 counts of Burglary, 1 count of Criminal Damaging, 2 counts of Resisting Arrest, and multiple traffic offenses.
The incident occurred on Lowrie Blvd.
Other incidents:
- On March 28: Officers responded to a physical altercation between male and female roommates at 9224 Lincoln Drive. Both had minor injuries, but officers couldn’t determine the primary aggressor. Neither party wanted police involvement.
- On March 29: Officers assisted rescue squad at Northfield Village Skilled Nursing for a male patient who had fallen. The patient was transported to Marymount Hospital.
- On March 29: Officers responded to a disturbance at MGM Casino. A male was cited for disorderly conduct-intoxication and referred to Stow Municipal Court.
