SUMMIT COUNTY, OHIO— At Summit County Animal Control, countless lost dogs are reunited with their relieved owners each week. While those happy reunions are always worth celebrating, there are still many wonderful pups waiting patiently for a second chance. With a little extra luck, every dog can find the safe, caring forever home they deserve. To help make that happen, County Executive Shapiro is hosting the “You Lucky Dog!” adoption event to help connect these dogs with families ready to open their hearts and homes.
All March long, adoption fees are reduced to $28 (regularly $94). All animals are microchipped, fully vetted (including bloodwork, flea treatments, intestinal de-worming, spay or neuter, and vaccinations) and ready to be taken home. Those who adopt a dog will also receive a 2025 Summit County Dog License included in the adoption cost.
Residents can call 330-643-2845 to schedule an appointment or visit the facility during business hours. To browse pictures of adoptable pets, visit Summit County Animal Control’s Facebook or our website.
