Chamber Chatter – 1-8-16

by Laura Sparano

Although it’s tempting to “hunker down” and stay put in January, you’ll want to grab that coat and scarf and attend the Jan. 14 Chamber meeting at Spennato’s Ristorante in Northfield Village.  Angie Giltner, President of Empower Training & Assessment Co., LLC will present “Motivate Your Employees through Empowerment”.  I don’t know about you, but I could use a dose of that as well.  A delicious lunch is included with your $15 admission, $20 for non-Chamber members.  Plus, you now have a chance to win $25 cash!  Every Nordonia Hills Chamber member (in good standing) has been placed in a hopper.  If your name is pulled from the hopper and you are in attendance, you win $25 cash.  If you are not there, the $25 goes back into the pot and $25 more added the next month!  It continues each month until there is a winner, then we start again at $25.  This month’s cash prize is donated by Kevin Waldron, Ridgway Insurance.  Margie Valenti, RE/MAX Crossroads is our February benefactor.  So not only will you hear a great speaker, network with like-minded business people, and enjoy a wonderful lunch, you might also win $25!!!  But you have to be there to win!!!  Please RSVP to 330-467-8956.

“Business is Blooming” at the 24th Annual NHCOC Community Expo, chaired this year by Penny Haser (CVCC) and Julie D’Aloiso (SpiderCat Marketing)!  PRIME booth space is still available for this March 19 event, along with a discount for early registration.  Raffles, entertainment, Chick-fil-a, and business displays – all under one roof (Nordonia High School) from 9-3:30.  This is a wonderful opportunity for our local businesses to show their newest products and offer “Expo specials” to the community.  Last year, over 3,500 attended this one day event.  If you haven’t registered yet, it’s time!

Sponsorships are available until Feb. 28.  The Platinum Sponsor level ($2,000) is for the business wishing to make the biggest “splash” in the Nordonia Hills community – and at the Expo.  The Gold Sponsor level ($1,000 – $100 Discount if registered by Feb. 1, 2016) is for businesses looking to make a bold statement, signaling to the Nordonia Hills’ community the growth and success of your enterprise.  The Silver Sponsor level ($600 – $50 Discount if registered by Feb. 1, 2016) is for businesses looking to showcase their success to the Nordonia Hills community.  The longer you wait, the fewer times your business name will be in print!  Sponsors will have a link on our web site; at the very least, the name of your business will be on a blast email sent to over 2000 businesses each week.  Don’t miss this opportunity to build relationships with over 80+ other businesses and to promote your product or services to over 3,500 Expo attendees.  How long would it take you to pass out that many business cards?  More than one day, I’m sure!  Let us do the work for you.  With every booth you get a table, 2 chairs, back curtain, table covering and skirting, a listing on the Chamber web site and in the special section of the March 16 NewsLeader – even coffee and a doughnut to start your day!  If your business wants to be a part of this annual event, call the Chamber Office (330-467-8956) or check out the web site for specifics – nordoniahillschamber.org.  Register today and allow us to begin promoting your business.

Thank you to Chick-fil-A Macedonia for providing the food court this year.  Their booth will actually be located in the cafeteria this year, where they will offer many of the same delicious foods available in their restaurant.  Be sure to stop by for lunch!

The Expo Committee LOVES sponsors who sign up early.  To date, the following have committed to showcasing their products and services – AND making a splash at the Expo  Platinum – UH Bedford Medical System & Jackson Comfort Systems; Gold – SpiderCat Marketing, Western Reserve Hospital, Record Publishing and Nordonia Hills Schools; Silver – Ferfolia Funeral Home, ABC Rental Center Party Station, Chick-fil-A,  and Molon Labe CrossFit.

Call the Chamber office (330-467-8956) if you’d like to help us plan the neighborhood’s biggest party of the year.  We’d love to have you on our committee.
