Knights Track Teams Get 1st and 5th and Conference Meet

Many athletes qualified for the finals on Tuesday of last week and looked to run good races on Thursday. In the 100 meter dash, Arianna Pearson finished 8th with a time of 13.43, while  Jon Banks and Michael Westbrooks finished 3rd and 6th with times of 11.36 and 11.57. In the hurdles, Eden Kereky finished 3rd in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.09 in the 300m hurdles Emily Eterovich ran a 48.42 and finished 3rd. On the boys side, Brendan Jackson finished 1st and Jahdon Wimbush finished 4th, with times of 15.33 and 17.29in the 110m hurdles. In the 300m hurdles Brenden Jackson won, running a time of 40 seconds and Jason Lewicki ran a time of 41.49 and finished 4th. In the 400, Kayla Childs and Jonathan Banks ran in the finals. Kayla ran a time of 61.59 and finished 7th, while Jonathon ran 49.89 and finished 2nd. In the 200, Arianna Pearson finished 5th with a time of 27.29 seconds. Dominick Stockle and Zach Liederbach also ran the 200, their times were 22.55(2nd place) and 23.30(5th place). The field events also saw some excitement, as the Knights saw Dominic Dasher finish 4th in shot put and 3rd in discus. Sarah Shedroff also finished 1st in the discus. She threw 128 feet and 3 inches. Matthew Hayes and Jordan Dearth both placed in the high jump, finishing 5th and 7th. Kayla Childs ended up 3rd. Grace Coghill and Jonathan DePiero placed in the pole vault, Grace got 1st with a jup of 11 feet 6 inches. Jon got 7th with a vault of 12 feet. In the relays, The boys finished 1st in the 4×200 and 2nd in the 4×100 and 4×400. The girls got 5th in the 4×200 4th in the 4×100 and 8th in the 4×400. Lastly, for the distance runners. Matt Korodi and Jaden Wimbush both shined as Jaden got 5th in the mile and Matt got 5th in the 2 mile race. The Knights compete in the district meet this week.
