Knights Varsity Softball: Brecksville-Broadview Heights Captures Lead Early To Defeat Nordonia

Nordonia Knights Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 6-4 loss to Brecksville-Broadview Heights on Wednesday. Brecksville-Broadview Heights scored on a single by Demjanjuk in the first inning, a single by Stease in the first inning, a double by Cave in the second inning, and a single by McGonegal in the second inning. Nordonia Knights Varsity knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the first inning. Hannah Ours hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run. Brecksville-Broadview Heights pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Cave doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run and McGonegal singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Cave got the start for Brecksville-Broadview Heights. She surrendered four runs on four hits over eight innings, striking out five. Hallie Majoros was on the mound for Nordonia Knights Varsity. She lasted eight innings, allowing 12 hits and six runs while striking out four. Jordyn Dean, Kendall Becker, Lexi Maciejowski, and Ours each managed one hit to lead Nordonia Knights Varsity. Nordonia Knights Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Grace Barth made the most plays with eight. Brecksville-Broadview Heights racked up 12 hits in the game. McGonegal, Demjanjuk, Cave, and Williamson all managed multiple hits for Brecksville-Broadview Heights.
