Macedonia City Council Candidate Bio – Andrea Fink

Andrea Fink is a lifetime resident of North East Ohio.  She moved to Macedonia in 2011 and lives with her Husband, Michael Fink and their two daughters.  Shortly after graduating from High School, she enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a Hospital Corpsman from 1999-2004.  After serving in the military, Andrea, studied Business at Kent State University.  She Graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Majoring in Marketing. Andrea utilized this education and increased her knowledge of business with her Career. She has been employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs since 2008 and is currently a Level III Warranted Contracting Officer. She has the authority to obligate up to 100 million dollars, and is an expert in Government contract analysis and conducting official Government business.

Andrea knows firsthand what it’s like to live in surrounding communities, and different parts of the country.   She sees this as an advantage because it gives her a broad view of possibilities.  Her life experiences will help generate new ideas for the future of Macedonia.

Andrea has always had a passion for giving back.  In college, she was a member of the Volunteers of Kent State where she traveled to parts of Appalachia to help build drug rehabilitation centers.  She is also an active Member and Alumni of the Wounded Warrior Project, which serves Disabled Veterans who were injured after 9/11.

Andrea is seeking office because she sees many possibilities for the future of Macedonia.  She wants to help with idea generation and executing results.  With her background, education, and current experience with Government – she brings several skills to the table. 

If elected to Council, Andrea will enhance Community Engagement through Operations, Marketing, Design, and Economic Vitality.  She will address Storm Water and Flooding Damage, that is currently not being covered by the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, by creating local policies and procedures. She also will engage in the Revitalization of the Macedonia Recreation Center by proposing new a Marketing Strategy and Price Structure– including and Military Veteran Discount.
