Nordonia Knights Varsity Sets The Stage For Victory With Early Lead Over Aurora

Nordonia Knights Varsity grabbed an early lead on its way to a 7-4 victory over Aurora on Wednesday. Nordonia Knights Varsity took the lead on a sacrifice fly in the first inning. Aurora knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning. Aleese Angelo singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

After Nordonia Knights Varsity scored one run in the top of the seventh, Aurora answered with one of their own. Nordonia Knights Varsity scored when Hallie Majoros singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. Aurora then answered when Julia Mazanec doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Nordonia Knights Varsity pulled away for good with one run in the second inning.Rachel Cornett was in the circle for Nordonia Knights Varsity. She lasted seven innings, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out two.

Kelci Fleming was on the rubber for Aurora. She surrendered six runs on five hits over four innings, striking out two. Rachel Dudziak threw three innings in relief.

Nordonia Knights Varsity tallied eight hits in the game. Majoros, Lexi Maciejowski, and Jordyn Dean all had multiple hits for Nordonia Knights Varsity. Majoros went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Nordonia Knights Varsity in hits.

Aurora tallied eight hits. Mazanec, Angelo, and Crawford each managed multiple hits for Aurora. Mazanec led Aurora with three hits in four at bats.
