Nordonia Knights Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 12-2 loss to North Royalton on Wednesday. North Royalton scored on a single by #8 and a sacrifice fly by #10 in the first inning.

The Nordonia Knights Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing North Royalton, giving up 12 runs.

North Royalton got things moving in the first inning, when #8 singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

North Royalton scored eight runs in the fifth inning. North Royalton’s big inning was driven by an error on a ball put in play by #1 and #31, a walk by #8, a single by #10, a groundout by #2, and a fielder’s choice by #00.

#7 was on the rubber for North Royalton. She surrendered two runs on nine hits over five innings, striking out four and walking one.

Jenna Cornett toed the rubber for Nordonia Knights Varsity. She surrendered 11 runs on eight hits over four and a third innings, striking out one. Grace Daniels threw two-thirds of an inning in relief.
