10 Reasons Why You Should Knit and Sew

Chances are, most women over 40 can sew and knit. It’s a lost tradition that needs to be picked up by women and men. Here are 10 reasons to pick up that needle and thread.

  1. It’s fun:There are a wide variety of books that teach everything from basic blanket patterns to making stuffed animals. Start an Instagram page with all of your creations.
  2. It’s a great way to pass time: Knitting will ease your bad insomnia, anxiety about work, and long wait time at the doctor’s office.
  3. It’s useful for emergencies: Having a skit to sew up tears and buttons comes in handy and saves you from embarrassment.
  4. It can be learned at any age: There isn’t a time frame to learn how to knit and sew, but the sooner you learn the better.
  5. You can make some really great gifts: Giving handmade blankets, lingerie, stuffed animals, shafts, etc… feels great. Not only will you feel like you accomplished something, but the person you gift your present to will feel appreciated and loved 😍.
  6. You will be crowned “super parent”: Last-minute stitches on clothes from accidents before school will save your child or teenager from embarrassing situations.
  7. You can start your own business: Making various types of clothing is profitable and fun.
  8. It’s safe: You may prick your finger here and there, but it beats possibly getting a DUI from a night at the bar.
  9. It’s great to do during crappy weather: Thunder storming? Knit a blanket. Blizzard?  Sew a dress.
  10. It brings people together: Sewing and knitting in a group feels homy and it’s super productive.
