The YMCA presents the fun and educational week long Safety Town Event covering safety topics such as stranger danger, bus safety, toxins, gun safety, fire safety, and playground safety.
The 2023 Safety Town Event will be held June 19-23 for incoming Kindergarteners at Rushwood Elementary School in Sagamore Hills, OH. Families may register their incoming kindergarteners for one of the three sessions offered. Students will attend daily at their registered time 1)9am-11am, 2)1pm-3pm, or 3)6pm-8pm for the week-long duration.
Kindergarteners who attend event will be given a safety town tee shirt to wear and a safety equipment item to keep for their use. Each session will max out at 50 campers per session.
The Rotary Club is selling “store-fronts” for Safety Town buildings. (see pictures of storefronts as examples).
Debbie McNellie and Dawn Ryan will be the experienced supervising teachers for the Safety Town event. High school students who enjoy working with children are encouraged to sign up to help, and will receive their required high school volunteer hours. Numerous volunteers are needed to make this event a success for the children.
Registration will begin May 1 and continue through June 5, 2023.
