This sweet girl had casting done today for her prosthetic! He said he should have her new leg in about a week for her to start working with in therapy, and in about 2-3 weeks she will be able to go home with it, depending on how many adjustments need to be made. He told us today he has been doing research and thinks he found the perfect parts for her so she WILL be able to do her dancing, cartwheels and flips again!! This has been the upsetting part for her because she did lose her knee so we had to figure out a way for her to be able to lock her knee so it doesn’t bend when she has it in the air, so she can land it. Its going to take training and lots of hard work and determination but if anyone can do this, it will be her. She wants to be the first patient of his to master an above the knee prosthetic cartwheel. I love that he challenged her with this task. It drives her even more to follow her dreams!
