Northfield Center Trustee Paul Buescher responds to an email he received from Sagamore Hills Trustee Dave DePasquale stating that there was a leak of information concerning the Rosemary Barrett investigation coming from Northfield Center. Below is Mr. Buescher’s email response back.
Dave,
This is in response to your recent email.
I did not receive the email because once again, you used an old TWC email address. I just learned about the existence of this email this afternoon and had it forwarded to me.
I initiated this investigation when I hand delivered all the documents that we had to the Sheriff’s Office on August 1st. I worked WITH Deputy Dobbins with his initial inquiries. I also insisted that ALL documents be shared with attorney Jeff Snell and that is exactly what was done.
Since that August 1st meeting, I have had NO CONTACT, verbally or otherwise, until today, with anyone outside of my fellow Trustees and Administrator regarding this case except with Sheriff personnel. The Detective Bureau contacted and met with me during their investigation. Again, so that you clearly understand, it was THEM who contacted me and the information that I provided to them at that meeting and subsequent phone calls from them, was highly instrumental in their investigation. If you have any doubts, please feel free to contact Sheriff Steve Barry or Detective Ann Manuel for the facts. There is a BIG difference between “hindrance” and COOPERATION!
The only evidence of any “hindrance” is in your letter dated, August 15, 2017, where you stated in part, “Sagamore Hills P. D. is going to investigate these fraudulent charges.” This, despite the fact that the alleged crime was committed in Northfield Center and that the Sheriff’s Office made it perfectly clear that THEY were conducting the investigation. In fact, on August 16, 2017, we were advised by the Sheriff’s Office to have no further contact with you regarding this case.
In closing, it is I who is greatly disturbed that you would infer that there were leaks coming from our Township. Based on what I have heard, it would behoove you to look in your own ‘backyard’, before making such unwarranted statements!
