This year has been quite the whirlwind, hasn’t it? With all the protests, the worst virus of our lives, and the wacky political things going on, it feels like we are trapped in an episode Black Mirror, but it can only go up from here, right? Here are my six predictions for the rest of 2020 and five years after.
- The Corona Virus will only get worse. Why? Whenever I go out, half the people I see aren’t following CDC guidelines. On top of that, people are protesting without following CDC guidelines. The state of Ohio had a spike of Corona cases for seven days straight! Please wear a mask and social distance.
- More people will propose and get married sooner than later. Why? The ban on mass social gatherings is giving people cabin fever, but that’s not the only reason. The 9/11 effect is happening all around us. According to Governor DeWine, 40% of Americans know someone who has died from this virus. Couples are going to live life the fullest with the ones they love.
- More women will take birth control, and couples will be more adamant about safe sex. Why? Raising a baby in this craziness will cause more stress. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
- More Americans will pick up yoga and meditation. Why? Yoga and meditation have many mental and physical health benefits. Depression and suicide are at an all-time high. Emotional distress is registering at over 1,000 percent. Talk Space, a therapy app, has seen a 65% increase in users. Therapists are recommending yoga and meditation more than ever before. The materials are cheap, and you can do it from home. It is not just for crunchy moms anymore.
- Being vegan will be more than a hipster thing. Why? People with pre-existing conditions are more susceptible to the Coronavirus, especially those with respiratory problems, but more than just the Corona is going around. People are also catching the flu and pneumonia, and both of those illnesses are tough on your respiratory system. Living a vegan lifestyle can help ease respiratory problems. Have you ever seen a sick vegan?
- Staying in will be the new norm. Why? More people are going to want to homeschool their kids, order groceries and alcohol online, do curbside pick up and other contactless activities out of fear and convenience. A lot of us have gotten used to being at home and kind of like it. The TV remote is the best invention on earth. Most of us are lazy. The more serious part of this argument is people just do not trust the world anymore.
What do you guys think?
