Nordonia Girls Golf – Results from the Start of Our Season

The Nordonia Girls Golf Team is off to a strong start to the 2021 season. They finished third on August 7th at the Kent Lady Rider Invitational at Twin Lakes Golf Course and followed this up with a 1st place finish in the morning flight of the Hudson Lady Explorer Invitational at Lake Forest Country Club.

For the Kent Tournament, Christina Nagy (junior) led the team with a 77 followed by Brooke Barnes (sophomore) and Julia Gulla (freshman) with 86, Kenadie Trehan (junior)-92 and Larisa Golembiewski (junior)-93. Christina made the All Tournament Team with the 4th best score!

This great start to the season was then followed by a first place finish at the Hudson Tournament on August 9th. Christina Nagy (junior) led the team again with an 82 followed by Larisa Golembiewski-86, Brooke Barnes-90, Julia Gulla-91, and Kenadie Trehan-96.

The Nordonia JV team coached by Kristi Gunyula is also off to a good start to the season with a 7th place finish at the Medina Highland Invitational Tournament on August 9th at Loyal Oak Golf Course. Maci Taylor (junior) led the team with 89 followed by Kolbey Lewin (sophomore)-105, Lauren Torain (sophomore)-106, Emma Selbee (junior)-108 and Makayla Jethrow (junior)-110. Maci had the 5th best score for the tournament with her 89.

The Varsity is set to begin their Suburban League play on August 12th at Gleneagles Golf Course with the first of four league tournaments. JV has a match with St. Joseph Academy on August 11th and the Lexington JV Invitational on August 13th.
