Alleged bandit gone, leaves gray glove at scene: A man who police and witnesses believe was trying to steal a catalytic converter October 3, around 4:15 in the 500 block of E. Aurora Road.
A caller told police she witnessed a man laying on the ground, one arm under a car, using a cutting tool to remove the car’s catalytic converter.
The man suddenly got up and left the parking lot and “headed into the Waters Drive development,” according to the report.
Officers arrived and searched the area, looking for a “male in a white pickup, with heavy side damage, “according to the report.
The man was gone. Police reviewed security footage and witnessed the man attempting the theft.
