On Saturday, February 17, 2024, at approximately 7:00 a.m., Summit County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single-car crash on I480 in Twinsburg Township. The driver of a 2007 Nissan Altima lost control and the vehicle rolled over in the westbound lanes of I480. The Summit Metro Crash Response Team responded to the scene. The vehicle had three adult occupants and four juvenile occupants between the ages of five and seven years old. One of the adult occupants was transported via helicopter to Hillcrest Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The second adult passenger was transported to a local hospital and the third adult did not sustain any injuries in the crash. All four children were transported to Akron Children’s Hospital by the Twinsburg and Reminderville Fire Departments.
The crash will remain under investigation.
UPDATE: Unfortunately the driver who was helicoptered to the hospital has passed away from her injuries.
