“Hello, Nordonians! My name is Kelly Loomis and I am writing a book about the history of Nordonia Hills Schools. I would like to pick up where Mrs. Bessie Goosman left off, in the 1970s when Rushwood was brand new.

A little bit about me: I grew up in Macedonia and Northfield Center before moving to Columbus for 24 years. I moved back to Northfield Center four years ago. My mother’s family moved to Macedonia from Maple Hts in 1962 when most of the area around Valley View was farmland. My grandmother lived here until she passed in 2007. My cousin was a paramedic and trustee here for over 30 years. We were all long-time parishioners at St. Barnabas, with my mom being a member of the 1st graduating class and myself graduating from there as well. My mom worked at St. Barnabas Villa, and I currently work for the school district. A large part of my history is here in Nordonia Hills, and I look forward to learning as much as I can about your history as well!”
