Pedestrian Fatality on Olde Eight Road: Authorities Seek Information on Hit-and-Run Incident

9200 block of Olde Eight Road in Northfield Center Township for reports of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. Witnesses on scene rendered aid until the Macedonia Fire Department arrived and took over care of the victim. The victim was identified as an 84 year old female from Boston Heights. The female was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland by the Macedonia Fire Department. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Summit Metro Crash Response Team was activated to assist with the crash. Members from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Stow Police Department, Streetsboro Police Department, Silver Lake Police Department, and Cuyahoga Falls Police Department responded to the scene to investigate the crash and process the scene. Investigators believe the female was struck by a late model, blue Ford Explorer. The Explorer had been travelling northbound on Olde Eight Road when it struck the victim. The vehicle did not stop after striking the victim and subsequently fled the scene.
