City of Macedonia Police Reports – January 2-5, 2025

Identity Theft – January 2
A resident of Hampton Drive reported identity theft after receiving an unauthorized Cash App debit card in the mail. The victim stated her personal information was compromised during a cyber-attack on her 401k financial institution last year. She was able to close the fraudulent account through Visa, who provided a reference number. Police advised the victim to monitor her accounts for suspicious activity.

Criminal Trespass – January 2
At 7:13 p.m., police responded to GetGo on E. Highland Road regarding Jessica Robinson, 37, of Cleveland, who had been previously trespassed from the store on December 31. Robinson had been terminated and banned from the property following an incident with another employee. Despite this, Robinson attempted to make a purchase but was recognized by management and asked to leave. Criminal trespassing charges were filed through Macedonia Mayor’s Court and a warrant was requested.

Retail Theft – January 5
At 2:25 p.m., officers responded to Home Depot on Macedonia Commons Blvd for a reported theft in progress. Michael Demore, 33, of Sagamore Hills, was arrested after allegedly stealing PVC pipes and loading them into a red truck. The suspect then re-entered the store, climbed an employee ladder to access tools above a locked cage, and took additional merchandise including a Milwaukee impact drill and tripods valued at $685.65. When confronted by loss prevention in the parking lot, Demore abandoned his cart but fled with the stolen pipes. Police stopped the vehicle in the parking lot. Demore was charged with theft through Macedonia Mayor’s Court.
