Bats were blistered as Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights outshone Mentor Varsity Cardinals 13-10 on Saturday. Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights collected 12 hits, while Mentor Varsity Cardinals had 12.
Kirra Smeal collected four hits in four at bats in the win. Smeal doubled in the fourth inning, doubled in the second inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning.
Mentor Varsity Cardinals were the first to get on the board in the first when Maggie Haydu singled, scoring one run.
A triple by Madison Hetrick gave Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights the lead, 3-1, in the top of the second.

Smeal earned the win for Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights. The right-handed pitcher surrendered 12 hits and 10 runs (three earned) over six and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking four. Syd Cahill took the loss for Mentor Varsity Cardinals. The starter went seven innings, allowing 13 runs (10 earned) on 12 hits, striking out seven and walking nine. Haylie Lambes collected the save.
Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights accumulated 12 hits in the game. Larken Koran drove the middle of the lineup, leading Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights with three runs batted in.
