Both teams were strong on the bump on Wednesday, but Walsh Jesuit Varsity Warriors was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-0 victory over Twinsburg Varsity Tigers. Jeff Klominek started the game for Twinsburg Varsity Tigers and recorded 15 outs.
A single by Carlos Smith put Walsh Jesuit Varsity Warriors on the board in the bottom of the third.
Shawn Sullivan earned the win for Walsh Jesuit Varsity Warriors. The hurler allowed three hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 15 and walking two. Klominek took the loss for Twinsburg Varsity Tigers. The righty went five innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits, striking out eight and walking two.
Aiden Shinada, Kyler Hoon, and JD Okuma each collected one hit for Twinsburg Varsity Tigers.
Walsh Jesuit Varsity Warriors amassed nine hits in the game. Jagger Dalton drove the middle of the lineup, leading Walsh Jesuit Varsity Warriors with two runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Dalton, Jake Brubaker, and Smith each collected two hits for Walsh Jesuit Varsity Warriors. Walsh Jesuit Varsity Warriors ran wild on the base paths, tallying four stolen bases for the game. Walsh Jesuit Varsity Warriors didn’t commit a single error in the field. Andrew Holcomb had the most chances in the field with 15.
