Knight Watch: A weekly Nordonia Sports Roundup written by student reporter Christopher Hovanetz, sharing highlights and updates from across Knight Nation — all year long.
Nordonia Athletics Update
The Nordonia Knights girls basketball team saw their postseason run come to an end after a tough matchup against Hoban Knights. Despite a strong effort and a season filled with hard work and determination, Nordonia was ultimately taken down by Hoban, bringing the girls’ playoff journey to a close. The team showed resilience throughout the season and represented the school community with pride.
Next up in the spotlight is the Nordonia boys basketball team. The Knights will take the court on Saturday, March 7th at 7:00 PM as they face Chaney Cowboys in the Ohio High School Athletic Association playoffs. This matchup will be an important one as the boys continue their postseason run, and the team will be looking for strong support from the Nordonia community as they compete for another victory.
Looking ahead to spring sports, the Nordonia baseball team will soon begin their season. The Knights are scheduled to open their season on March 16th with a game against Independence Blue Devils. The start of baseball season always brings excitement as athletes return to the field and fans get their first look at the team for the year.
Nordonia wrestling also has major events coming up at the state level. The girls will compete in the OHSAA Girls Wrestling Tournament on Sunday, March 8th, while the boys will participate in the OHSAA Boys Wrestling Tournament on March 17th. These tournaments represent some of the biggest stages of the season, and Nordonia wrestlers will be working hard to represent their school and community.

As winter sports begin to wrap up and spring seasons get underway, it is an exciting time for Nordonia athletics.
