NORTHFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio – Northfield Village Police arrested a driver for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI) after witnessing multiple traffic violations on Northfield Road. During a routine patrol on May 10, 2026, officers observed a vehicle failing to stay within marked lanes and following other motorists too closely near the intersection of Olde 8 Road. This Northfield Village OVI arrest led to additional charges after officers discovered an open container of vodka inside the vehicle.

Details of the Northfield Village OVI Arrest

On the evening of May 10, 2026, at approximately 10:28 p.m., a Northfield Village patrol officer initiated a traffic stop on Northfield Road. The officer, operating marked patrol car #842, stopped the vehicle in the area of Olde 8 Road after observing a marked lanes violation and following too closely. Upon making contact with the operator, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol and noted several visible signs of impairment.

Field Sobriety Testing and Arrest Procedures

Following the initial interaction, the officer conducted Field Sobriety Tests to evaluate the driver’s level of impairment. Based on the results of these tests, the driver was placed under arrest for OVI. Following the arrest, the suspect refused to provide a breath sample for testing, resulting in an immediate license suspension.

Vehicle Inventory and Court Information
