What Are the Job Responsibilities for the Boston Heights Mechanic Position?
Working under the general direction of the Public Works Foreman and Superintendent, the hired mechanic will be responsible for providing inspection, maintenance, and repair services for all Village vehicles and equipment. Additionally, the role involves performing various street and park maintenance tasks as needed. The individual in this position may be called to respond off-duty and must remain available for emergency snow removal and other Village emergencies.
What Are the Minimum Qualifications for This Boston Heights Mechanic Role?
Candidates applying for this role must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. The position requires the completion of a technical/vocational school program in gasoline and diesel engine repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants must hold a valid State of Ohio driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, and they must possess or be able to obtain a State of Ohio Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Tanker endorsement. Essential technical skills include the ability to troubleshoot gasoline, diesel, and small engines, alongside knowledge of welding, hydraulic systems, and basic computer and cell phone operations.
