Checkpoints Planned Countywide
The Summit County OVI Task Force will conduct sobriety checkpoints across Summit County on Friday, July 31. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office announced the initiative in a media release issued July 24.
Officials did not specify exact checkpoint locations in the release. Drivers throughout the county should expect increased law enforcement presence that evening.
Campaign Message
The task force is promoting the checkpoints under the slogan “Drive Safe, Drive Smart, Drive Sober.” The effort ties into the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s “Drunk Driving. Over the Limit. Under Arrest.” campaign.
